Teaching Credibility to Children
- I have taught children in the public school system
for fifty years, teaching third grade for thirty-six of those years. The most effective lessons I ever taught that
are still retained by many of my students in their adult years are the lessons
of credibility.
Early in my teaching career I realized when children are
confronted with a mishap such as making a mess or spilling something, their tendency is to deny it.
In order to help them develop their moral conscience, I began discussing
the concept of credibility.
The following pages on this
website will cover the methods I developed to teach credibility that proved to
be so effective. My goal is to encourage more parents and teachers to focus on
values such as credibility that can make such a great difference throughout
one's life.
